Glenda is our resident, eastern grey kangaroo. She was born in 2014 at a zoo in NSW but it did not take her long to settle into the easy-going lifestyle of Tropical North. While the tropics are great all year round, Glenda did experience the threats of the region, when Tropical Cyclone Debbie hit in March 2017, which caused extensive damage to Hamilton Island, including WILD LIFE Hamilton Island. Glenda opted to go walkabout for four months on the island after most of her exhibit was destroyed by the storm and eventually popped up at Resort look out when she could see the park was ready to reopen in August 2017. Happy to be back at home, Glenda spends most of the warmer parts of the day resting up in her newly renovated habitat.
